Traffic surge with RSS and Articles

I just recently learned a great little technique to help build traffic to my blogs and sites. It's incredibly simple, and had been staring me (and you probably) in the face, because it doesn't involve anything new or revolutionary. But, it's a subtle, but effective, combination of familiar concepts that get the results.

Bascially, it's common knowledge that writing and posting articles with anchor text links in the content and bio box can have powerful long-term SEO effects, while bringing more traffic to your site right away (from people reading your articles and clicking through.)

Also common knowledge that RSS can be a powerful "syndication" technique to get your site or blogs content read, indexed, and ranked, all of which translates to boosts in traffic, again both short and long term.

Here's the big "secret" of combining these techniques: Find your "Author Bio" RSS feeds on the article publishing site(s) you commonly use, i.e. "EzineArticles." Most, if not all, article syndication sites offer an RSS link to your bio page, and more importanly, this is a list of ALL YOUR ARTICLES (and therefore, all your links!) Okay, now that you have your RSS links, here is the crucial part of the technique: Ping the feed! That's right, go to "Ping-o-matic" or "Pingoat", post the .XML link of your feed in both the "blog" and "RSS" boxes, and submit. Your done, and you should see an increase in article reads, and clickthroughs to your site, in a very short time.

Here's the recap:
1. Copy/paste the RSS feed from EzineArticles, Goarticles, or wherever.
2. Go to your favorite Pinging service, submit the feed(s.)
3. Observe increase in traffic to articles and site.
4. Rinse and repeat.

So simple, yet kind of ingenius I think.
