Well, writing this review is long overdue. I bought The Rich Jerk over 2 years ago, and a lot of what I know about internet marketing, affiliate marketing, PPC, and other IM skills, started with this brief (to the point) ebook.
(A note regarding my personal results using this information: Shortly after buying and reading the Rich Jerk, I created my own information product on Clickbank, and months later, achieved top 10 rankings on Google for most of my targeted, profitable keywords. This was due in large part to the strategies I learned in the Rich Jerk ebook.)

For background:
The Rich Jerk, also known as Kelly Felix, is a rags to riches story. Basically, he was a down and out actor that turned to internet marketing in an effort to achieve his financial dreams...And it worked. He and his girlfriend, "Summer", collectively known as "kellyandsummer" on eBay, sold a high earning affiliate website (30k-50K monthly) on eBay in 05 for $379,000. Obviously, he mastered the art of making money online (quite quickly) and decided to create an ebook about how to do just that.
When I first started researching
The Rich Jerk, and other resources on how to make money on the internet, RJ's obnoxious style stood out immediately (and that was no accident.) And I have to say, as much as he "insults" his prospects and site visitors, I recognized immediately that this was a "schtick", a gimmick for getting people's attention, and I frankly thought it was pretty amusing. In other words, I wasn't "insulted"at all, and actually laughed frequently as I read his sales copy at
The Rich Jerk website. Frankly, I thought the blatant obnoxious remarks were hilarious, and a nice change from a lot of the (very typical) sales letters that we always see, especially the ones for internet marketing products. And, that sense of humor that kept me wanting to read on, was a clue to me that the
Rich Jerk knew how to market.
Once I bought the book (at that time, $47 I believe ) I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this wasn't just an "ebook", but a membership with additional resources, including lifetime free updates of every new release of The Rich Jerk, a supportive Rich Jerk Forum, and a support system that provided an opportunity to ask questions and get feedback. More on this later, let's get into an overview of the ebook itself.
First of all, the book at that time was only about 40 pages, give or take. The current version is actually 65. The exact number isn't important, the fact is, the book is fairly brief. Some might question that at first, but let's face it; this isn't high school English class, where the length of the report is more important than what the report says. This is internet marketing, where people read many emails, blogs, websites, forums, wikis, and whatever else, every single day in the course of being, or becoming, a successful marketer. We skim and peruse until we find "actionable" information, and then we ... "act" on it, or at least, we should be doing that. The Rich Jerk not only teaches this very concept in his ebook, he very skillfully includes a LOT of "actionable" information, with very little fluff. To me, brevity is usually an asset when it comes to learning internet marketing (and related skills) and that very much applies to
The Rich Jerk.
The book is organized into 8 chapters plus an "addendum", listed below for reference. Each chapter is a concise summary of the topic, and provides the essential steps required to start making money using the particular strategies covered.

Addendum - Extra Information
As you can see, for being a relatively brief ebook, The Rich Jerk covers a wide range of money making strategies, skills, and opportunities and starts out with heavy emphasis on Affiliate Marketing, but covers much more than just that. The reason I like this is that we all come from varying backgrounds, interests, and level of experience. Some of these topics may be totally foreign to you, while others strike a chord. You just have to pick an area that is interesting, and doable for you, and you can begin strategizing for making money. Then, once the ball is rolling, you can branch out and try other areas one at a time. This is a good idea in general, and is known in the general business world as "diversifying."

Rich Jerk HighlightsFor me, one of the strongest parts of
The Rich Jerk is where he teaches about writing sales letters and PPC ads. He provides a breakdown of the key elements that should be included in a sales letter to get maximum response (appeal to fear, create urgency, etc.) Regarding PPC ads, he gives some very unique approaches to "getting the click" and as I hinted to earlier in this review, some of those were foreshadowed in the ad copy on his site, as well as PPC ads I saw on Google when researching The Rich Jerk. (hint: "Don't click here you loser" does way better than "Breakthrough Money Making eBook. Buy Now..." )
In his chapter about "traffic middleman sites" he talks about a technique now commonly referred to as "Arbitrage" which simply means getting PPC traffic cheap and monetizing it. This section was the first introduction I had to this topic, and I was happy to learn the technique. However, my only comment is that his 2nd tier PPC search engine recommendations are not the best. Most of the traffic I have ever bought from these fails the litmus test miserably (click fraud or just poor converting.) But the strategy of arbitrage itself is presented well.
He does a great job of illustrating how promoting Clickbank products can be very profitable, and quick to enter for beginners.
Rich Jerk Lowlights
For people that are into, or highly interested in, eBay, chapter 5 is great. I personally have always focused on information and digital products, so I didn't derive much value from this chapter.
Chapter 6, although relevant back when the
Rich Jerk was first launched, is somewhat dated now. I say this because some, if not all, of the example websites he talks about as having earned him millions, would not prove profitable in today's market. Example: it is much harder to earn money on gambling affiliate programs in the U.S. now due to legal changes that have occurred. This also applies to some extent with online pharmacies.
Summary
The Rich Jerk covers a broad range of money making strategies, and does so in a concise way (65 pages.) Although brief, it provides solid, doable steps that a newbie can do to begin earning money online quickly. If applied consistently, and repeatedly, the ebook could serve as an overall blueprint to achieving success in online marketing. In my case, I launched my own ebook and ranked in the top 10 on Google for my targeted keywords, all within less than a year.
Conclusion
I learned a lot from
The Rich Jerk, and I am a fan of his obnoxious persona and marketing style, because it's entertaining, and because it works. The ebook is not perfect, there are areas that could be improved on, with perhaps more detail. Also, I am not a fan of black hat SEO tactics, nor preying on the "fears" of my prospects, but for those that are okay with that, Rich Jerks overview is effective.
Overall, I highly recommend
The Rich Jerk, especially considering that when I bought it, it was almost $50, and now it is available for $9.95
For that price, it is definitely a worthwhile investment in your
internet marketing education.
